Been trolling on here for a while and couldn't find an explicit answer. But yeah, I have found a cheap TF wreck with beautiful paras and was wondering if they would fit easily into my KJ xi?

It has stock all-white headlights, not the beauties you seen on the sports or vr-x :)

Your KJ headlights should be identical to the Sports/VR-X lights (bar not having a parker light).

Like I said, the headlights you want were a factory fit on a KJ Xi.

Have you got a photo of your exact car?

As above, an internet pic does not cut the mustard, IF you have a Verada, you have Para headlights OR some douche has smashed the front of the car you have and then the even bigger douche has replaced them with standard head lights.

If this is the case then you will have wiring issues as well as the Verada will not run the standard Magna headlights properly without some wiring mods.

I would suggest you put up pics of the front of your car and if in doubt as to the model of your car then PM me your VIN and I will tell you the exact car you have

If you say you have the car you say you have...A Verada..then ,you should have the iights already.

Seems like a big dodgy job has been done in the past and the paras removed ,and ,some unsuspecting person...(seems like you ) have been done like a dinner

WOW so it turns out my car is an 03 TJ series 2 Executive and probably the car dealership I bought it off put Verada Xi badges on the back... Should I be capitally p***ed or what?

Wow. You got done over.
Probably no consolation, but your situation is a classic case of doing research prior to purchasing.
Headlights, taillights, grille, mags, and interior all are different and would have perhaps raised questions.

I guess if its an additional consolation, they did buy the car second hand so there wasn't any huge amount of coin thrown towards it. I'm the third owner of the car and have been so since its 133,000th kilometre.

Wouldn't you notice that the verada looked a little 'basic'?

sorry to sound like a right prick, but ,seriously.....you need your head examined if you actually thought that you had bought a Verada based on the badges on the boot

Did you do NO research before you bought this car..

Th two cars are so different,it not funny..

You sound above and beyond a prick, but to reiterate AGAIN I did not buy the car, hence I could not make the differential. The log book, badges, manual and interior are all that of a verada.

Maybe you just need to put up some photos so we can actually see what this hybrid looks like..........:io:

and ,regardless of who actually bought it ,they have been had.

It like buying a Fairmont Ghia and discovering its a Falcon GL

Vin is definitely an exec. There area lot of features being an 03 model you should have such as abs srs elec windows and cruise as a lot of the late series 2 exec got this but your missing so much from an xi verada is sad

So interior, your saying you have the leather, hi is cluster, c pillar lights, full electric drivers seat, felt covered interior trims just to name a few things. Add to this there should bea 5sp auto, larger bars with reflectors in rear bar and fog lights and Parker's in front bar

Obviously the VIN doesn't lie, but I think you should chuck up some photos of the interior and exterior, as it doesn't sound like your car is a factory Exec.

Firstly I don't think the OP needs his head checked what so ever nor does it need to be said with such attitude, the dealer has obviously done a shonkey and not everyone will research a car before they buy it, if it drives well, is comfortable and is what someone is looking for then they shouldn't need to do any research as it would tick most boxes for the individual. For someone who does not know Magnas I dont think they would give two shits what the difference is between an Advanced, Executive, Altera, Sports, VRX, Ralliart, Verada Ei/Xi is. I know when I bought my executive I bought it because it was cheap, had awesome interior and was manual, I did not jump onto the net until after I bought the car.

If the car ticks all the boxes wrighty, I think just forget about it, theres no reason to get pissed off about it, if all the documentation however says is an XI and its not, go back, give the dealer some grief you may not want to return the car but you could probably get something out of them for it.

Physically they will fit. Some wiring modification to your car may be required. You can check the wiring on the TF wreck as an example of what you need to do.

Sorry to hear about your car dealer mishap...I don't believe there is anything you can do unless you can prove it was a deliberate fraud....for all the dealer knows it could have been traded in like you see it.

for someone who knows nothing about magnas i don't think its unreasonable they didn't know the differnce between a verada and a magna. where are all the experts picking the differences between a cj vr lancer and a ch es wagon?

MadMax

It's an exec with upgraded interior and fake badges on it. Probably mods by a previous owner, sold by dealer "as is". Now he wants paras. No problems really.

Personally if you got told by the dealer it was a verada or it is on the paperwork go back to the dealer and demand some compensation as under his lmct license is his job not to mis represent this car. Boost people buying a car take what the dealer states as fact, just like if I was to go and buy a diamond ring I trust the jeweler. If you can evidence what the person buying this car for you was told dealer has some answering to do

Forgot about the paper work. If the VIN says it's an Exec but the paperwork - especially the log book - says it's a Verada, you've got to wonder who is trying to kid who.

I think when he says log book he is referring to the cover. From memory my TJ one had a Verada on the front. But the would def show you the Verada on the book and your car was different.

Madmagna

Correct, the manual which comes with a TJ or KJ all state that they are for both cars and has a Verada on the front

Max, forget the VIN, if the sale paperwork states Verada then the guy has a case as most would not know the difference between a Verada and a Magna VIN unless they are magna people, just like most on here would not know the difference in VIN between an acclaim and a Calais if they were getting a commo (god forbid)
