Okay first of all taking out the backseat is child's play but my main question refers to the metal panelling separating the boot compartment of my Tj from the backseat. There are several things I need to know...

- is the collection of the panels designed to provide structural support towards either side of the car?

- if yes, is it all relevant?

- if no, can it be stripped right down to open the boot and backseat space into one?

I plan to just remove than carpet the entire area if the metal panelling I may or not be able to remove is cumulatively redundant.

Cheers!

Well it can...but not legally nor safely.

You could maybe remove it and use some metal bars as bracing instead, but the bars would need to obviously be lighter than the paneling.

Unless its a pure track car, don't bother. Besides, the magna is hardly a worthy track car anyway lol

With you behind the wheel ;-)

I also believe the metal panelling has the hooks for the rear seat

Ha. Ha. :P Says the guy who took a wagon onto a track! At least you gave the scruitenering guy a good laugh :P lol

Pretty sure OP doesn't need rear seat hooks as he doesn't want backseats.
