Just wondering what should I expect to pay for a heavy duty clutch fitted.
Prob a few months away from needing it done & just wanted to get an idea on what it would cost...unless someone wants to help me do it ;)

Cheers :)

You pay about $600 for the pink bits, then factor in about $200 for installation (3 hours @ $60-$80ph)

generally you would be looking around $1000 fitted for a heavy duty clutch.

We charge $1250 fitted including fitting, gear box fluid, exedy kit, most places around here would charge around the $1400+

Not sure how now days charge $60 per hour, if they do they wont be around for very long thus if you have any issues you would be stuck. Most smaller places are charging $100 per hour and larger up to $150 per hour

buy the clutch kit yourself. can be had for about 700 online. then 350 labour should cover it

the couple of inquiries ive made so far charge more for labour if they dont supply the kit....which i think is BS...i guess they're not making a cut off the kit

Just going off my local mechanic's price. $65ph. He's been there 24 years by himself with his son. If you charge more, you're entitled to, but some places are still cheap.

That will be most likely because he owns his building, does not need to draw much, does not have to pay the costs that larger business do.....it costs be about $65 an hour just to open the door perhaps a little more, when you look at equipment costs, a single item can cost over 10K an this has to be paid for some how.

I do not know of anywhere here in Vic running a legit business with insurance etc etc charging that little, sounds like you are onto a real good thing there with your mechanic which is great to see

The real question is... what are your intentions for the HD clutch? Remaining fairly stock, just needing a new clutch? i paid $1020 for my Exedy 380 HD clutch and flywheel off Mal, and paid $650 for it to get fitted.. but I still melted it on 280+ HP, and ended up going for an Evo 9 clutch which ended up cheaper because I got a rather stupidly cheap price on the part.

been quoted $300 today - luckily the prob was the clutch master & not the clutch it self although that will need replacing in the next couple of months im thinking...
