Oil change time & just wanted to get ideas as to which are good oils & filters to use

Engine is a VRX 3.5 with a little under 140k on it tuned to 98ron (not sure if any of that is relevant but thought I'd throw it in anyways).

I've always just used generic oils in my old cars but want to make sure I use good oil in this one. Any recommendations/advice is appreciated! :)

What is widely recommended by many people on this forum is Penrite HPR 10w50 (it is the 40+10 version). Excellent oil, issues that some other oils have is reduced dramatically. (such as tappet noise etc).
Never use any filter other than genuine Mitsubishi. They can be had from your local dealer for ~$3 more than from super cheap etc. The filter is far better. Dont settle for less in this department.

Thats pretty much all there is to it. Guys please dont make this a ten page long thread!

you can always go a genuine filter or a ryco z456, ive always used the ryco ones. with regards to oil, do a search mate, there is plenty of info on that subject. most people recommend penrite hpr 10. i use valvoline durebeld 10-40 in mine

Or if you're an NRMA member, $5 Repco brand (Ryco manufactured) filters are all I use.

I think oem filter is $22 if that helps, HPR 10 is usually the most widely used oil

Glad I'm not the only one using Repco brand filters. 295,000km young on HPR-10 and Repco filters.

HPR 10 is what I used to. Brilliant oil. Five years ago it was a great oil (semi-synthetic), but last year they made it a fully-synthetic oil and is even better.

Please use search as this has been asked millions of times. Personally I use genuine filter and penrite but there has been many many discussions
