Hey guys,

Just wanted to ask how do you get to the top of the rear strut to unbolt it. Do you have to remove the rear seat? or remove the carpet wall in the boot?

Cheers,
Ben

Getting access will require you you to get under the rear parcel shelf. Access is blocked by the rear upper seat and to remove those seats you need yo take out the bottom seats. So yes, both parts of the rear seat out, pop off parcel shelf clips and stick your spanner/ratchet under the parcel shelf to undo strut top bolts. You don't have to remove the parcel shelf, but you might have to loosen the speaker covers from inside the boot.

Also when dismantelling the strut, you'll need to stop the shock from moving in the strut by holding a clamp or plier on the little piece of metal at the end of the thread/shaft that holds the strut top on.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info mate. If that's the case then I might even replace the rear speakers if I have to remove the parcel shelf because they are starting to crackle a fair bit, and it gets worse the louder it is.

You don't have to remove the parcel shelf. There are little cavities that you can fit a ratchet/breaker bar in. You just need to lift the parcel shelf slightly.
