i have just been reading the workshop manual (tj raliart pdf if you need it pm me i will email it) and it has the letter N in a black box pointing to the sir clip on the cv shaft that gos into automatic gear box the N in blackbox refferes to it not being reuseable is this true or will i get away with useing it once ive installed the new box?
What in actual **** did you just say? If the circlip is fine when you pull it out then reuse it, if in doubt, its like a 30 cent part.
i have, a couple of times even, and no problems after 30 000ks

I have always reused them. If you buy new or changeover CV shafts then they should have new clips on them.

i know it sounds cheap but i live an hour and a half away from any township so i need to be organised and wouldn't want a 30 cent part stuffing up the process.
thanks for the advise i removed cv shafts (years ago on 84 mitsubishi colt) before and reused them but wasnt sure if it is nesserry to replace them or not.
