Hey guys,

Tomorrow I am going to go out and buy new speakers for the Magna. Now the reason I am doing it so soon is because the old ones sound bad now, they crackle and distort really bad (my fault for trying to listen so songs with bass and turning the volume up too loud).

Question is, if I just replace the speakers for now (will be getting an amp later), and just use the existing wiring (for now) will the new speakers sound crap and distort or will they fix the problem?

I literally can't listen to the radio or a CD at the moment they have gotten that bad so I was just going to replace the speakers with Alpine Type R's and then when I can afford it, I will get everything else later.

Thanks in advance.

a simple answer is yes, if ur speakers are that stuffed then replacing them will fix the problem.

Ok good. First the rear speakers started making noise, so I set it so the sound was coming out through the front speakers more then the rear, but then they started to go.

I will be getting a 4 channel amp later on for the speakers but just can't afford the one I want at the moment.

Wiring will be fine. Replace the speakers.
6-6.5" fit in the front no issues, just watch the mounting depth. 6x9 in the rear, I have kicker ds series and they have 3 screws holding them in not 4. I, unsure of a speaker to line up with the stock screws.
Also watch the depth on the 6x9 for the boot torsion bar, mine were resting against it so I tuck s piece of thick foam between the magnet and bar.

Hope this helps :)

Yeah that was actually going to be my next question but you already answered it haha, what size the front speakers were.

I have just finished pulling out a rear speaker (wasn't too hard), I will take it with me tomorrow and see if the new model 6x9 Type R's are similar depth. Can't believe that the rear stock speaker is only 15W, no wonder it didn't last long with the music I play through them haha. Thanks MistahJT :)
