hey guys, so ive been trying to sell my magna vrx since i bought my ralliart ! i cant seem to get rid of it. people have some look at it but no luck...just stupid requests which i dont like dealing with, ive got it currently on ebay for $3250 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=281057470687&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT
but honestly am i being too stupid about the price? i started it at $6500 then some dick hit me so i lowered it to the point of $4k thinking thats as low as ill go ! comparing it to commodore/falcon i dont understand why people wouldnt give this a go? my mates both have a ba and a vt, mine was purchased cheaper, lasted longer and is much more reliable......is there something im missing here?

You'll find the high kms and the accident are huge turnoffs for buyers. Pretty much it, hopefully you can get $3500 for it.

Yeah, like Hayden said, I think the kms and the accident damage are a turn-off. It's a pretty decent price though. Nearly makes me want to buy another one lol

When I sold my old VR-X, it had 175,000km on it, and apparently the kilometres turned a fair few people away, even though it was in flawless condition mechanically and cosmetically. But when you think about it, it's a 11 year old car... even your car would average out to be about 25,000km a year which isn't excessive.

For that price I'd just about buy it if I haven't just brought my sports... Someone will pick it up. Wouldn't pay 6k or even 4 with those k's and damage tho...
Someone will get a god car.

Mate, there's quite a few reasons why I think you're struggling to sell.
Firstly the damage is a pretty serious concern. That damage is not a few $100 fix up. Your reo, bumper and the rear section under the boot are all damaged. That needs to be professionally pulled out and if not done right then the boot will leak. That's an easy $1000 of work, and to most people, it's something they'd be very reluctant to worry about and buy into. Also you kind of do lie in the listing about the car when you say: "the exterior does have imperfections, there are no dents or major damage but the usual scratching over the past 10 years do show" - you do have pretty major damage, and for me, when I originally seen your car for sale on MCM, I was put off quite quickly from trusting you any further and I'm sure any buyer would too.
You then also have relatively high km's for a car of this age. Not excessive, but it's pretty high for most people. There's often this belief that high km's means a bad worn car and lots of mechanical repairs. Usually is the case, unless its been well serviced. I think it might be a good idea to put up some pictures of your latest service records and/or receipts. 250,000km in 11 years is around 22,000km's a year which is bit high usage.
I'd also argue the modifications you've made may be a put off to some buyers. I'd much rather just tell the buyer when they've come to inspect the car because by that stage they've already got an vested interest in the car to a degree. I'd even go as far to let them know after the test drive, than before, or even on the listing. Without seeing the changes, some can get put off.
And then you also provide pictures that are a bit average on an overcast day and list the car on ebay. You'll never get good coin for any car you sell on there. It's a place to quickly sell a car for cheap. I find carsales much better for getting better coin for your car.
This is just my input on selling the car.

That little scratch (dent) is nothing lol
Its still worth $3500 easy..
If anything would cost $500 dollars to fix up.
Big deal lol

Just to clarify to magna P.I - i can see where your coming from completley but the damage scratch whatever anyone calls it happened after i listed it so i just added a bit down the bottom of the listing, and the dent that used to be in the boot was replaced, nothing leaks or anything like that, cost me $120 to fix but i did it myself. panel beaters quoted me $1200 and i just laughed, and that scratch that ute put in the side i can fix it for around $300 ( moulding $100 second hand door $50 ) and my panel beater mate would fix the 1/4 panel up for the cost of paint which leaves change, its just a matter of patience on ebay ! anyway ive got someone to look at it today hopefully to take it for $3500 otherwise if it doesnt sell on ebay im giving it to my mate for $3k which he is accually selling his VT, cause well its falling apart, even though he will still get more for it than the magna really pisses me off alot !!!!!

Nice! Even though it was a limited edition, that's still a good price to get considering the damage and kms.
