hey guys, just looking up some prices for a set of coilovers from the US, for a diamante as they call it there $980 not incl shipping. over here there like $1750..... is there something im missing??? seems cheaper even if i was to pay the shipping charge, im just wondering if its worth just looking at springs or for a bit more go coil over, what is other people experiences?

Shipping will run you a couple of hundred minimum which will push you over the $1000 tax free threshold,so you're looking at $980+$200 shipping+$182 in taxes+whatever foreign transaction fees that are applicable so you're now up to around $1400 by the time they're on your doorstep.

So the savings aren't as great when you start adding up all the associated costs.A set of Kiddo's would be the way to go.

Coilovers vs springs is a hotly contested subject in recent times. I suggest you do some searching and draw your own conclusions.

Speak to Alan (megatron) - he can get K-Sports, and I imagine they'd be less than $1750.

definatley something which is alot stiffer, too much body roll in general although it is a huge improvement over my vr-x, im going to just install larger swaybars and a strut brace for now and see how i go then ill make a decision to go or not to go coil over, also where did all the responses go !

I'll chime in here ONCE, as I seem to cause a few arguements.

KSport
Kido
Pedders
D2
XYZ
and many more..

All of the above brands make a coilover to suit the Magna/Verada SEDAN..

Do some research and you'll get yourself a fair idea of peoples consensus. There's quite a few guys on here with coilovers now, so many of them will chime in and give you their review on what they have and what they think of them.

Good luck with your choice, no doubt you'll be happy with em!

Its not unusual for goods be to way cheaper in other parts of the world. Take New York State, (not the city) has almost 20 million people and its about twice the size of tasmania...
So thats a lot larger market, that has to cater for sales support, warehousing, distribution and service/warranty...

(Oh Damn, theres that warranty word....)

All in less than 1/50 the size of australia for a similar population.
Thats Buying Power..

It will also explain while many cheap products have little or zero product support...

Cars we pay a heap more for too...

But thats the trend, we'll all buy our gear on the net, and we wont be able walk into a shop for some touchy feely, while we all wonder where the little shop/garage on the corner has gone. But its the way of the world at the moment, I'm looking forward to ppl trying get the best deal on TV, of which they have no Idea what it looks like.

I love Australia, I might pay a bit more for my cars, but at least I have the space to enjoy them...
