I have a TL AWD Magna and was wanting to know if you can switch the manual mode + and - (upshift and downshift) so that its the other way around. I prefer to push forward for downshifts and pull back for upshifts..............is this a simple swap of a wire/ sensor ???

Cheers and hope it hasn't been covered off before ??!!

Yep, it's been covered before. Search and ye shall find.

Near the selector are some micro switches, you just need to swap them over, or swap the wires.
There may be pics or a bit of a guide in the forum, but you'll have to find it first. I don't think it's been mentioned for a long while.

Cheers!

yep, discussed in 2003 here http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=363
and better details in 2006 here: http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37686
There's even a thread called "Change shift direction on 3rd Gen Triptronic Auto" which has the guide from that previous link :)

To search, just go to google and enter something like: micro switch site:www.aussiemagna.com/forums
Google will return results only from the forum. I didn't have time last night, but there you go.

Other search engines should have methods for restricting results to a single site, but I don't bother with other search engines any more.

Cheers!

well I can now tick another item off my "to do" list ! The swap around took about 1 hour all up, and the shifting is now the right way around IMO..........well at least its now the same as my other car !
