Hi guys, been looking around the net for a few hours trying to find the answer to this. Stumbled upon your forum and realised I had already signed up in the past. Does anyone know the weight of the 6G72 mivec that came in I believe the 3rd generation magnas/diamantes?

I'm having a look - for science!

Found this LINKY LINKY (http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/corporate/about_us/technology/review/e/pdf/2007/19e_13.pdf)

Weight is 180kg

180kg sounds too little for a cast iron block V6.
I assume that weight is just a long block, no ancillaries?

Yeah, that info is in the link, engine only, not including mounts.

Not sure.... But if you read the owners manual you can determine the weight difference in manual, 4spd auto and 5spd auto.

If I had to guess I'd say that a 5spd auto would be 80kg? Guessing here.

Yeah..... I realised that AFTER I posted that. Brain fade.

I think that weight (180kg) was tranny free, and sounds about right.

This whole engine weight thing interests me to so I'm going to keep digging.
