I'm wanting to change the the bulbs in the digital climate display panel to LED's. Has any one attempted this and is it possible. There isnt enough room to put the T5 bulbs in, I was thinking of using surface mount LED's so there would be plenty of room.

No worries I know what you mean about the search function you need to be creative with the wording used I find or alternatively use google but use amc in the search also.

Best to search in Google 'site:aussiemagna.com ... ' where ... represents your search term. E.g: site:aussiemagna.com LCD bulbs display, or whatever.

+ 1 to that! ^

& i get annoyed when ppl say "just use the search function" because if it was easy to find what you're looking for we wouldnt be asking in a new thread *end rant* lol

Tania I found some smally LED lights on ebay - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221166515854?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

i ended up pulling apart the white T5 led's i got from ebay and using the original base/socket that the lights were in on it and just modified the base to suit the led which worked really well. I'll try to get some pics of it but i am really happy the climate control screen turned out blue not that orange/brown and all the buttons and ignition key light is a really nice white colour no more green

Search harder :-) my point being its all there you just need to know how to look for it , when you've been around here a while you will understand the same questions get asked over and over again and most times and im not saying this time but most times people ask because they are just to lazy to look. The forum has been around for about 10yrs so its a good chance most subjects have been covered in some way or another .Anyway happy to help point members in the right direction. :-)

And if you notice my original post was said with a smiley face so I wasn't being pushy.

I have used these before and they offer quite a good spread... But Im not sure if they might be too bright for this application. I have ordered some and can post pics when I have them installed.

Note: I have installed these and dont recommend the T5s

I had orderd some of the normal T5 wedge bulbs and then found out they didnt fit. After a bit a search on the net and finding out i needed to buy the neon ones i then took the base of the Tg led's and replaced that with the base of the incandescent bulbs in the panel already and worked a treat

I bought the neo's for my KR analogue clock and was happy with them, so thought Id stick with what I know. Your way would have been more accomplishing though :P
Anyway, I got them today and installed them... Pretty happy with the result bar the screen being a tiny bit dim. Loving the all red theme though :D Shame about the speed alert lights though. Will have to look into changing them...
For those wanting to install them... Remember that LEDs only go one way! So put them in and test that all 4 lights are working before putting everything back!
