View Full Version : Immobiliser check
Hi Guys..
Thanks a lot with my alloy enquiries I had the last time. Here's another noon question..
How do I check if my 380's immobiliser is working?
I tried locking the car while sitting in the car and starting it up but as I was using the actual car keys, the engine fired up.

remove any key rings etc., and wrap the key head in aluminium foil so none if it is showing. if wrapped properly that should block the signal.

I know if I pull bonnet release, then lock car then walk to front and lift bonnet up the alarm goes off - careful - the horn is very loud!
I also once tried to sart it wtih the ?? fuse removed from RH panel at drivers door and got a CEL about wrong immoboliser after no start then putting fuse in and trying again.
I have scan tool to clear the CEL so no long term problem
Thnx for all the information guys.
I did the aluminium foil check and the bonet check, worked for me. Now I can sleep in peace ;-)
The fuse removal sounded a bit out of my comfort zone so I avoided that.
