So i finally got around to putting my dvd HU in .. amping the front and rear aftermarket speakers.. replacing the massive piece of cr*p tweeters with the sony splits (attached to some sort of metal frame in that deep ugly hole) ... ohhhh godddd it sounds amazinggg... anyways.. since its a chinese head unit I have the luxury of using the slow and bearly usable android 2.3.5 system with Digital TV.
The antenna they provide (has no input power for gain) is only good for SBS and channel 31..
Is there any really good TV antennas out there which will catch channel 7, 9, 10 etc??
I'm thinking this might be a decent one??

Yes, try it, but no guarantees.
Most homes in Aus need a digital TV aerial on a tall mast pointing at the transmitter to get a reliable signal. What chance do you think of picking up a reliable signal in a moving car with a weeny little aerial, even if it is amped?

Digital tv in cars is pretty well useless without a high end receiver capable of diversity antennas.

In large cities with good coverage I'd guess digital TV in car would be good, but in Aus I'd agree, pretty much not usable. Unless you park in line of sight of a transmitter. Or park the car in your carport and have a (house) roof mounted aerial you can plug in. Bit like DAB radio in the car, really.
Mind you, I'd like to hear from anyone who can get digital TV or DAB radio working reliably in their car. And how they did it.

I've got digital tv in my aurion. Bought one of the double din units http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8-car-DVD-player-GPS-Sat-Nav-DVB-T-TV-radio-iPod-stereo-for-Toyota-Camry-Aurion-/281063236547?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4170aca3c3
similar to this. Mine also has 2 antennas, small mast type one at the front and one at the rear of my car (inside). It receives all the digital channels perfectly. Obviously depending where I go the signal of a particular channel may drop out and then come back as I move around but most of the time I can get a decent enough signal. The reception is perfect. I have been very happy with the unit.

jattsta, these are the antennas I have with my unit, in this ebay link.

My unit is like this one where it has 2 antenna connections, this must obviously help with signal. I just have one double sided taped on the dash near the bottom of the front left windscreen area and one taped on the rear left parcel tray.
