The clutch pedal is not smooth when being released. It feels notchy, like the pedal pivot point needs to be lubricated. Through the gears it's fine because the pedal goes in and out quickly, but when riding the clutch to takeoff, I can't bring it out smoothly - tends to come out in a series of tiny notches.

Car has only done 60,000km. Anyone else had this problem?

Standard clutches last about 100000km. If your car had a hard life before you bought it the clutch may be worn.

Car definitely did not have a hard life.

My Dad owned it and did 50,000km in 9 years, many of which were on the highway. Definitely not a wear issue.

how often was the clutch fluid replaced ? maybe it needs a new slave or master cylinder.............i just replaced my pajero slave cylinder as it was doing funny things like you described.

Things like leaks from the master or slave cylinder can cause this.
