hi, i own a 92 TR and its almost done 400,000kms. Ive stroked the old 2.6 and its absolutely killin the auto box. to put the manual in what has to be done?? ive done a few conversions before ( like my turbo bluebird) but have never done much with any Efi models. will i have to replace the ECU and loome or are there shortcuts that can be taken???

Also if any one has a manual setup lyin around that they would like to get rid of for a reasonable price ill gladly deliver money to your door for it!! :bowrofl:

Please PM or email any expendable knowledge as it would be mostly appreciated!!
thanx guys.

Hey, off topic but where did you get stroker components from? Did you use new pistons? If so, what brand?

A manual conversion is exy and we only know of one person in a 3rd gen who's done it. Have a search for conversion cause someone posted a comprehensive list of stuff.

Cheers guys,
shoulda looked a bit harder in the firs place i guess aye? great hepl!!
as far as the stroker attempt goes, i got a crank turned up by my uncle as he works at a large engineering mob in melbourne, had a local mechanic grind the cam down to allow for the extra 4.6mm in the stroke, modified the head around the valves for better flow as the valves arent openin as much. the pistons i picked up off ebay :D (cheers to the good fella)
they were hepolite 92.1mm (o/s 1mm) id never heard of the brand before but they havnt let me down as yet (touch wood) there were a few other small mods done as well but they are almost standard mods for any car. it has made an impressive difference and its still not finished, ive spent my whole budget on the motor and havnt got the cash to re map the ECU. if you know of a way to do it yourself with out the hi tec equipment please let me know.

feel free for any further questions if i havnt covered them already. also ive still got the blu-prints somewhere for the crank if any 1s interested.

cheers.
