Well the clutch in the magna has decided to go, and it needs to be back on the road asap for as minimal as possible.

I have gone through a few threads on this topic but i would like to know what exactly is needed to

a) fit the clutch
b) what evo clutches are compatible..

Thanks heaps guys

Try dropping megatron a PM. He knows a fair bit about this and can also tell you all the specs on the evo clutches so you can pic the right one for you..

He was very helpful and knew alot when i asked him the same question.

I think you are crazy putting a second hand one in. Its a big job to pull car apart to fit so you may as well spend a few hundred more and put a new one in, plus you know it has a whole life span to last and not just half. I dont think you will get a Second hand one cheap enough to justify. You would nearly have to get it for nothing for it to be worth it imo.

Agree with above.
Better off with a new standard clutch than a used evo one. Labour is the big factor rather than the cost of a new clutch.
You wouldn't (or shouldn't) consider using second hand spark plugs or second hand brake pads either.

If you want an "uprated" clutch you can look at the 7223HD, I liked mine, though...

The EVO clutch pressure plate sits out about another 7mm than the Magna or the others listed. This can cause fouling on the bell housing.

The 7223 above(above is the HD version) is what Exedy used to list for the Magna however the old version had issues with rivets hitting the flywheel, this is no longer the case and can be used in the Magna, is the std clutch for the VR4TT so will more than hold the power of any std Magna

Your alternative is the HD version of the 7684.

What have you done to the motor or the car to make you want an Evo clutch, unless boosted I really think you are wasting your time

Either way I deal in Exedy so if you want to give me a call I can tell you what clutch is what and how much etc

You should consider upgrading your diff to a LSD if you drop an evo clutch in. From what I've read (and experienced) the stock diff really doesnt like heavier clutches.

I ran my manual magna with stock diff for ages with no problems? Had an Exedy HD clutch

The number of broken diffs reported on here a while back is no doubt down to a number of people who couldnt properly drive a manual as they had little experience and little mechanical sympathy

on the topic of clutches, what sort of difference is noticeable between stock and after market ones?
