Hi there,
I had a couple of cracks in the pipes at the top of my overflow bottle which I glued over a year ago. Recently they cracked again and last weekend I replaced the overflow bottle. This morning the car temperature shot way up, and I discovered that there was water which appeared to be leaking from what I assume is the water pump. as per photo https://www.dropbox.com/s/v5lf7bvaeuef2n0/20130220_103925.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/v5lf7bvaeuef2n0/20130220_103925.jpghttps://www.dropbox.com/s/v5lf7bvaeuef2n0/20130220_103925.jpg. If this is the water pump, would the Protex PWP 1025 from supercheap be the correct one?http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Protex-Water-Pump-PWP1025.aspx?pid=7714#Cross And how difficult a job is this to do?
Thanks
Stuart

Yep, your water pump is leaking.
Yep, the supercheap one is the correct one.
Steps:
Buy water pump and coolant.
Remove plastic cover.
Slacken pump mounting bolts.
Twist pump so belt slackens off.
Remove belt.
Remove mounting bolts.
Twist and pull out pump. (Ignore coolant that comes out, wash it off later with hose)
Clean mating face between new pump and head.
Pump is in two sections, paper gasket goes between the two.
Put new "O" ring on pump.
Put some little bit of vaseline on "O" ring.
Insert pump.
Insert mounting bolts.
Install belt.
Twist pump to tighten belt.
Tighten mounting bolts.
Install plastic cover.
Refill coolant.
Run engine to warm up, check for leaks.
DONE!
(Probably some extra rubber hoses that need disconnecting/hooking up, but you get the idea.)

Thanks for that, roughly how many mounting bolts and how hard are they to get to. I only own a set of ring spanners

Ring spanners is all you will need.
Looking at the picture of the new pump, each elongated hole shown on the paper gasket has a mounting bolt through it.

Ok managed to get the new pump on, had a few issues. I decided to replace the belt at the same time. Took the old pump out, retrieved the broken part that used to have an O ring on it from inside the block. On putting it back together the new belt seemed tighter and when I tightened it up, water was leaking, i tightened the screws up more and promptly stripped the thread in the aluminium of the new pump, and also stripped the long bolt at the top front. Couldn't get it off at all. A phone call to a friend who came round with a hacksaw and a drill and some taps, a visit to the scrap yard for some bolts and it's back together with the old belt back on!!! Hopefully no more leaks. Will worry about the old belt if and when it breaks.
Now the whining noise from the hose attached to the PCV needs fixed. Can anyone confirm if this is the right part? FUELMISER PCV VALVE PCV-079
