I don't know if this has been discussed before and I hope I am placing this thread in the correct section, but I just had a new JVC head unit installed complete with the steering wheel control interface etc. However, I notice that now on the 380's built in display appears this message 'audio comm error' and no CD track info or FM info is displayed. The guy who installed the head unit said that the JVC's display now overrides the factory settings so that I now have to read the CD/Radio information from the JVC Head unit. It is not a huge issue but he said the 380's computer doesn't recognise the JVC display hence the error message. I assumed that the Wiring kit etc for the 380 that comes with the head unit would take account of this. Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so is it something you just have to live with or is there some way around it?

It's very common, quite a few threads here mention it.
The CAN bus doesn't see the factory head unit and flags a comm error.
Not a big deal, I just live with it.
Another member has retrofitted the original head unit in the boot to remove the message.

Here's one (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95288&highlight=Comm+error) and another. (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96211&highlight=Comm+error)

Hi Cashie,
Thanks. I can live with it too but its a pity there are such issues with interfaces.
