Guys,

Will this supercharger meant for the US Eclipse GT Mivec 6G75 fit & work on a 380 6G75 with no or minimal modification?

http://www.rippmods.com/Tuner_package_for_2006_2012_Mitsubishi_Eclipse_GT_ p/062012mits4g-v638-sds.htm

Or will the mounting brackets etc be all wrong?

I think this will fit straight on, all the mountings are on the engine which is the same as a 380.
I would also think about an inter cooler.
How much is postage over here?

Pretty sure this bolts to the front engine head, using the six bolt holes along the top of the head.

Not sure if they are the same distance apart as the non mivec heads, but if you can find an install manual/ guide I can take photos of my engine to compare to yours.

Playing with the site, you need to sign up to Bongo to obtain a 'fake' US postal address, and from there to Oz.
But no prices/quotes until you do so, so no idea of postage.
I was keen to supercharge my 380 but now I have a different plan - save like mad and buy a new car in two year's time.

Try and use the address for a freight forwarding company. Common in the US

I'm buying one :D

Spoke to the guys over there who have assured me that the blower will clear the bonnet fine and the engine bay is laid out perffectly for the brackets that they supply. Don't be in a rush, because these guys intend on making plenty of these for the future.

You can count on the postage exceeding the cost of the item if you go by air, by boat or getting an importer to ship it over in a crate of other bits would be cheaper.

Saving for a new car? Bet you can't fight the temptation to pump more money into the 380 in that time! lol Good luck anyway, got anything in mind?

Spent way too much on the trusty old 380, I'll be fighting the temptation to spend any more as hard as I can, who knows if I'll win that battle!

I don't think anything in Oz matches the 380 for largish car used value, but they are getting on a bit now and falling behind tech & gadget wise.

For the first time in 28 years I'm looking to buy a new car instead of a used car, and for the first time in my life I can afford to by a half decent new car outright instead of a used car (or I will be able to after two years of saving). Yes, I know all about the poor economy of buying a new car as opposed to a 2 or 3 year old used car that has already had a huge depreciation hit, but I want to spoil myself for once with a brand spankers newie before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

I'm keen on one of these: http://www.caradvice.com.au/211272/hyundai-genesis-coupe-review/

The new version which is due out in RHD including Oz in about two years time.

I think Braedz is considering one of these as well.

Sorry for going OT, over to the others to continue the discussion about the RIPP supercharger!

Yes the V6 looks the goods. I may have enough money by the time its released here. My 380 should get me a couple of thousand on trade in?

Yep, def the V6. Worry is many car makers are downsizing their engines, dropping V8s and V6s, and going for turbo 4s as their 'hero' engine, all in the chase for improved fuel economy and the dopey US C.A.F.E. laws. And the 'peak oil' myth. So by 2015 it's possible that Hyundai will drop the 3.8 V6 from the next generation Genesis, which means I'll be looking elsewhere.

You should get more than a couple of thousand trade in on your 380 in two years time, but maybe not much more than 5k.

Yes, I just got my insurance renewal. Car valued at $10000.
Its only done 80 000k and apart from crappy paintwork with clearcoat lifting on bootlid (had roof and bonnet done already)its still like brand new. What equiv car could you get for $10k?
Sorry off topic

I'd stay clear of this kit. Have it on good word this kit does not include the mounting brackets or idler pulley. If you're a fabricator then this will be up your alley.

Wont be getting it till the new year. Need to sort out some issues first. Simply confirming that they will be made in the future.

Def's make sure it comes with the brackets..

yea it bolts to the front of the head, you can buy the other bracket which will fit our 75 (there GS version)

GS bracket won't fit, unless you've a 4cyl.
