Looked about and thought id probly go something like this....
http://www.fastmagna.com/gallery/japd/jap11.jpg
It'd stand out alot more and make some ppl wonder what it is :D
but probly a better bobtail or none at all dont like spoilers that much... and more squarish/defined arch's, might go for the chunky bolts like slr 5000 kits :D
I'll make it all from fibre glass and will just add to the front bumper after some cut outs and make a mold from that... so it'll need to be off the road for a bit or lol no bumper  but yea once ive done it and then painted my car... i'll post pics of the process and write something up maybe...

Very Nascar style..
Youll need the deep dish rims to match

dad use to do wet sealing (aka fibre glassing) so i can get it all cheap through him and he'll help make it too he said so it'll cost me like $200 plus lots of hours but thats cool... when its finally done i might sell it cause i'll have moulds... should hopefully be done in 1 1/2 months to 2 months depending on how it goes.

Be sure to let us all know how it goes.
We all hold our breaths when someone talks about a kit for the 2nd gen Magna.
Good Luck.

3 months later and.... ive so far gotten a quote and ordered aluminium folded to the shape i want (very basic) and priced it... well in budget... should get it next week... get it on the car that weekend (nov 20th) maybe add some fibre glass hopefully... spray some crappy touch up paint on it just for the dyno day... want to look nice
Goal - make a cheap bodykit that looks half decent.
Budget - $300
Next Step - Get aluminium and modify to suit car shape.

DUDE!
I'm gonna say this ONCE and every 2nd generation magna owner here will agree, $300! :O I'll take one!
Seriously man, if you can offer us a body kit that will cost around $400 (Assuming you get in around 3-350, you can put some mark up for profit or just help out AMC :)). Mate if you get the mould done successfully and get pre-orders i reckon you'll rake in the money here, so many people will be interested in a body kit for the 2nd gen magna cuz they just dont exist, heaps of demand and no competition! You're all set :). Keep us posted how it goes and what it looks like eventually, i cant wait to see how it turns out. sorry i if i seem to be rambling but the idea of a 2nd gen body kit has got me all excited :D.

Ummmm depends who ya selling it to. In theory you wont get much more than 5-6k for a 2nd gen, so if yours is lacking somewhere the kit may make it up, but then again what mod can you get your money back on these days?

okies then....$300 for that body kit, thats unreal, i definatly be interested in one of those :D even if its like around $1000. Love the flare things around the wheels.

it could lower or raise depends on who your trying to sell it too.... some ppl you could tell em it cost like $2k and you only jsut put it on and only charging them $1000 in your price... same with all things if ya know the person isnt too smart you can get some more money out of them... i call it idiot tax... not my fault they dont know...
scraped the folded stuff got angel for $30... need to hassle dad for fibre glass making materials... might get the aluminium worked out on sunday... then fibre glass it and paint...
i want to cut parts off my bumper maybe for driving lights or something still need to sit down and work it out....
lots of pics will be taken! i own a digital camera so its a breeze.
i might need to go looking at wreakers for some cheap rims maybe... cause hubcaps wont cut it lol.... might chuck them into the price maybe too at the way im going :)

I'd be interested in a front if it replaced (or fitted on top) of the stock front bumper and a rear skirt/apron. (I have side skirts).
Please please keep us posted on your progress... :)
Any chance of a rear spoiler (to fit a wagon) like on the 3rd gen 'Sports' Wagons ? :D
God I'd love one of those! :doubt:

got some paint today.... the AY paint code of magna's is hard to find... cost me $95 for all the stuff to do all the parts i need to paint... got some driving lights free so i need to sit down and work on a design and think more of putting it all together since ive had a few difficulties... and with the dyno day being cancelled cause of lack of interest  i now have longer time plus i get speakers to install too...
so far ive spent
$35 - aluminium
$95 - paint
______________
$130 - total
looking into fibre glass prices this weekend... buying in bulk saves money.
and as for legality... if it was illegal then a few cars would be illegal... the type of cars cops like to pick on too...
