Hi Just about to purchase a 2003 magna and need to have a rough idea on how much should I expect to pay to have a towbar installed? Bought my first Mitsubishi in 1995 and now have converted all of my family to buying them.
cheers and thanks for the help

Ring around towbar places and your local Mitsu dealer for quotes perhaps?

I cheaped out and got one from the wreckers, $110 plus a lot of fiddling about.

Depending on the bar the general labour would be 2 hours or there abouts, some bars can be fitted without taking off the rear bar but often leave scratches on it.

Bar, used around the $130 mark and new around the $295 mark

Give Alin Towbars on Richmond Rd Richmond a call. I have noticed that towbar prices have gone up heaps. Had my heavy duty square removable hitch towbar fitted by Alin in 2005/6 for approx $290

I fitted a Heavy Duty tow-bar to my KL on Saturday. All up it took about 3 hours with the rear of the car jacked up.

This time would have been halved if i didn't struggle removing the old Light Duty tow-bar.

How much does a tow bar assembly weigh?
And how can you tell it's maximum limit?

Roughly 20kg?

The heavy duty towbar is rated to 1500kg.

How can you tell which tow bar is installed? Is there a stamp on it?

All towbars should have a compliance plate of sorts on them
