Hi all,

I have a S2 VRX running on vapour injection LPG and am looking at options for extractors. Used to own a 2.4 MIVEC lancer and have tried RPW extractors before and would prefer to look at a different supplier this time round, especially since running on LPG means higher temps and more chances of cracking depending on build quality and material.

A quick look at the Genie website, they've got extractors for Magnas and Pajeros but none for the 380, my question is would extractors that suit the Pajeros of the same era running the same 3.8lt 6G75 motor suit the 380 or can be easily modified to suit? As except for engine management, both blocks are virtually the same.

No chance mate, due to the NS engine config of the Pajero vs the EW engine config of the 380. Completely different collector pipe set ups.

Aww that's a shame, thanks for the reply. So any other options, except a custom jobby?

Nothing out there 'off the shelf' other than the RPW jobs.

I suspect it's possible to modify a set of TL/TW HM extractors to fit on a 380, but it would be a messy and expensive job best left to an expert.

It was something I was contemplating for my 380, as my exhaust guy is just such an expert - he builds whole exhaust systems from scratch, including hand made custom extractors/headers, for drag cars - but I now have my sights set on buying a new car in two years time, so I'll make do with the RPW extractors.

Here's a pic of the HM TL/TW headers:

I reckon it would be possible to cut and weld some extra pipe into both of the connector pipes (one for each bank) so as to clear the 380 sump, and then mod the connections so it all fitted up to the 380 main exhaust pipe. As I said, it wouldn't be easy or cheap, if it was everyone would already be doing it instead of buying the slightly dodgy RPW extractors.

But I don't think anyone has tried it yet.
