Did the rear brakes (pad change) on my TJ a couple of weeks ago with no dramas, gave them some time to bed in.

Did the front ones this morning. Left hand one had the piston boot edge partly out the caliper so that the piston wouldn't slide back in far enough to give the new pads enough room.
Pulled the caliper apart, to reseat the piston boot. Lots of grot in there, mostly rubber wear from brake components. Cleaned up and reassembled, all good. The car has 137,000 km on it, all 4 wheels had PBR pads in it, obviously not factory original so I'm blaming the person who did the pad job last. (Not that it matters)

Anyhow, that boot has a small split in it, so it needs to be replaced. Seeing the condition the piston and caliper were in, I really need to clean and rekit all 4 corners of the car, plus flush the system out with fresh fluid.

So the question is: where can I get the kits from? I'm after the caliper seal, piston boot, sliding pin boots and pin grease for all 4 corners. Might as well do it properly.

Look at the Eziauto parts on-line catalogue. They generally use Protex brand and if you look that up on google you will also find it. Also, google 'Protex Catalogue' because some suppliers have it in pdf on their web site which you can download.

Also, download the Pro-Torque catalogue. It has a very large range of parts for all vehicles.

I purchased a Protex kit for another brand of car and it had everything including the rubber tubes/boots for the sliding caliper bolts.

Also google ATP for another site with parts.

Will do, thanks. I'm going to do some comparison shopping to see which kits are the most complete and possibly the cheapest. (Rules Mitsu dealer out of course. lol)

You might find that it won't be that much more expensive to upgrade to 2nd hand AWD brakes for the front.

Which will need dismantling, cleaning out and rekitting. Advantage = zero.
