Problem Description:
Have a KJ Verada that wont grab any gears, sits and revs as if the cars in neutral.
No metallic rattle or anything coming from the gearbox. Just as if the cars in P or N.
Revs hard in all gears no movement.
Dumped the oil to try a flush the whole 8 (or more) Litres came out when I just took off
the sump plug.

How it happened:
Car was running smoothly all day. Was taking the on ramp to a freeway, have it a little bit of throttle (definitely didn't floor it by any means), next minute it when to change gears, and it just started revving its guts out without moving anywhere.

Will I need a new gearbox? Or can I possibly replace certain parts and bring it back to life?
How much am I looking at for a repair/replacement gearbox?

More likely than not the transmission oil pump has died, if not the wave spring
Either case, its cheaper to get a second hand box than repair it.
Contact Mal at Mits-Fix in Bayswater North to get a quote on supply and/or fit.

Thanks mate, Are those replaceable? Or is it too much a task to do so? I can have the gearbox out of the car without too much trouble. (Help off the mechanics where Im doing my Automotive course). Ive been told the gearbox out of the KJ is quite expensive. Im also pretty sure the KE-KH gearbox wont mate up without an ECU?

PM sent, Madmagna!

So KE-KH Gearbox should also fit on the KJ Verada? (2000 model, non-external filter)
