whenever i indicate left or right all my indicator lights come on flashing as though my hazards are on.my hazards work fine but just my left right indicators seem to be faulty.i put a new flasher unit in but still the same.my car is a 2001 verada ei.does anyone know what the problem might be.cheers.

Sounds like faulty hazard switch is turning off power but leaving L & R circuits linked. Unplug the switch and try blinkers.

I'm pretty sure if you unplug Hazzard switch the blinkers circuit just won't work.

Ok. Then borrow a known good switch to try my suggestion??

could it be the actual indicator arm on the steering column??

do you have a tow bar? it could be a short in the trailer socket
iirc the connection (if its oem) is in series with the left hand tail light

thanks ash,i just spoke to a auto electrician and he said exactly same as what you said,will check the wires on the towbar when i get home.

have the indicators been like that since you've owned the car? or did this happen after a service?
If not, that elliminates the chance that someone wired them up and got it wrong.

well....verdict was guys...i tried everything and no dice,took it to a auto sparky and the central locking and alarm were shorting out the blinkers!!go figure!!150 bucks well spent i reckon,thanx for all suggestions guys.great site
