I have noticed in some photos in the members section of cars that it appears that some people have put a light of some sort in the rear reflectors on the rear guard. I am thinking about trying this but was curious what methods have been used and what types of lighting has been used by everyone.

If you're referring to Verada rear side markers, they're not on the rear guard, they're on the rear bar. For AUDM models they function only as a reflector. Purchase a set for a Diamante from the US, however, they are functioning lamps. You will need to tap the wiring from the Diamante side marker into your existing parker wiring for this to work though.

Yes your right. Didn't realise the diamante one's existed, makes sense now. Have found some on ebay but will try and source some locally. Thanks for info.

Yep, I have these. You have two choices. They cost about $80 for the bulb holders/lens without globe or wiring new from Mitsubishi Australia, or you can wait until they pop up with globes and sometimes also wiring for abut $40-50 generally. You will need to run the wiring from the globe to tap into your tail lights (Or, in my case, your tow loom.)
You can source the globes from other places in the car. I don't remember the bulb type but you'd find it in places like your side indicators and some interior lights and stuff.

And I realised I don't have any good photos of this light on so here's one of hojo's haha.

If they're the same as guard flasher bulbs, they're T10 5 watt wedge bulbs

I had a bit of a look in the boot area the other day in anticipation of doing this mod. There doesn't appear to be direct access from the tail light to the space where the reflector is. Any tips on the best way to run the wire through. Might be a dymb question but what difference is there running it to the tow loom (I think I have one). You want it to come on with your lights. Not sure how the loom wiring works, sorry.

There is access. On the passenger side there is a rubber grommet you can use to get through. Run them both through there. As for what difference is there, none except convenience really.

I've had my Verada for almost a year now and I had no idea they're working lights.
Just thought they were reflectors

As per previous posts. If they are the AUDM factory ones from factory, they are just reflectors. USDM ones have the provision for a functioning lamp.

Yeah I just realised. I had a look at mine just now. Think I might find some online.
