Let me preface this by stating that I am 100% new to home mechanics.

Basically I am a uni student with limited funds and only basic mechanical knowledge. Bought my Magna a year ago from a mate and haven't had it serviced since. My wheels have been making a scraping/whining sound for a few weeks. Finally had the chance to get my wheels off and look at the pads/rotors and I was greeted by this lovely sight....

So, clearly, I need to replace my pads and rotors. I'm comfortable doing this myself but was just wondering about the specifics of -what- I need to buy.

What model rotors and pads am I after? Will take this to the marketplace boards afterwards in search of the parts.

Sorry if I've inadvertently broken any etiquette with this post - it has been a loooooong time since I posted on a BB.

Cheers

Have a chat to Brakes Direct. They have been excellent and are well priced.

I would go for some RDA OEM replacement rotors and perhaps some RDA Extreme pads. I only say the extremes because they make for an excellent daily pad that pull up great for a very reasonable price.

Do not get Firepower brakes. They are the cheapest and are awful. They almost got me killed.

RDA standard disc and rotors are probably the cheapest, but check around for price.

(Bought and not serviced for a year? Probably a few other things wrong with it as well, then.)

Too true Max.

RDA are a reputable brand and have a good warranty. The rotors will be fine for daily driving.

While you do that, change your oil and filter.
