I would have loved to see a maintenance log here on AMC, if our servers could cope.. ;)
Kidding, Thats awesome.. More Pics Please..
Apart from from a Magna Taxi, this must be some kind of record.. What the duties of this car to get around ~40k annually.

Excuse my noobish when it comes to second gens but is that instrument cluster lit up by down lights!?
pretzil
07-03-2013, 09:36 PM
Yes, the needles in 2nd gens dont light up so they need down lights do make them visible, its just especially obvious in this case since he has blue backlight leds and white leds for downlights

The records only go up to about 470k i brought it at 532k i've had it ever since i got my license witch was 4-5 years ago, i kept it stock until about 700k when i reached my greens
The engine has been rebuilt twice since i had it, the tranny has been changed once and rebuilt once, the radiator changed once, alternater 3 times, starter once, the car was written off around 200k then rebuilt from a 18 year old then impounded then sold to a few owners i am its 5th owner, its been driven every day at least a tank a day
I have to say when i brought the car it could hardly move lol i brought it for $800 i've spent over 3500 just in rebuilds and repairs about the petrol i would not have a clue hoe much i've spent ahha

I have heard that you can wind forward an odometer by simulating kms with a cd drive rotation :P
Jakeys
08-03-2013, 04:41 PM
You can also do this to the digital third gen S2 clusters by running a computer fan wired into the cluster. A couple members have done it, it picks up the rotational speed of the fan as wheel movement.

I understand now but i'm quite sure i've done the kms but i'm quite sure taking the cluster apart and moving the numbers would be much faster then useing an attachment, the old dials arnt real strong, how i know this is because when i was growing I heard of someone who used to scam people by putting them back.

Nope. If he says he will hit it in the next 18months or so he is doing 100,000kms a year. More lile sell it in a couple of years with near 200,000kms on it.
Nice to see it still going. Good Work.

If he is doing 100,000 a year an he is on 860,000 now, then it is going to take about 2 years to get back to 70000 kms...
That poor car won't get to retire anytime soon! :P I would love some photos of the car to see it's conditions - I've heard of a 1st gen hitting the 1,000,000 km mark but a 2nd gen would be an impressive feat!

I am impressed! I had expected the seats to be torn the engine to be vibrating everything but you've kept it in pretty good condition, as for the roof lining thats to be expected :)
For a car thats done nearly 1,000,000 km its in bloody good condition!

Im hitting 850k now, I had 17inch slimline tyres on there for about 5k these destroyed my shocks because the center of weight was out not to forget 17inch is way to big! For thr magna.
ive gone back to stock painted the trims on the side of thr car front and back a silver blue, front bumper is a patchy job well I guess thats why you dont paint at night....
ve change the front lights to the kr lights and the inticators im currently looking for a black or white front ks bumper

This makes my 147k ts magna look like I never drive it... However it's good to know that I can keep it another 80 years until it has your kinda kilometers without it breaking.
How much are you spending on maintenance
DxDiag

So far, from the day I got it i've spent a total of 2800+ and thats about it, I need to buy New shocks rear and front, New bushes for all the joints and New engine mounts. Thats about $2000

That's actually alot less then I would have thought, gotta love the Mitsubishi motors, built to last.
