Hi Guys my TJ Series II (180K)has been getting poor fuel economy for some time
Last year I had installed a Redback sports system (original was rusting out anyway) K&N Airfilter serviced on time every 15K, Timing Belt done at 100k, Rocker cover gaskets done at 163K

Someone mentioned I should try changing the Oxygen sensor

Apart from Genuine (I suspect to be costly).....Can someone Recommend thru experience which is the better
I checked ebay does anyone recommend any of these

http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p3902.m570.l1313&_nkw=MITSUBISHI+MAGNA++TJ++OXYGEN+SENSOR&_sacat=0&_from=R40

Online I have found prices from $59 ~ $125 Plus Freight

Is their a highly recommended one or for that matter one to avoid?

BTW I live on the Gold Coast

I Plan on replacing it myself, I found a picture somewhere here that it is locate don the passenger side underneath the carpet

Is their anything I need to be aware of

ALSO

I thought by disconnecting one of the Battery leads for a minute or so would Reset the ECU

Is this correct?..........as it turned out it was the NEG- Terminal

I also read somewhere that it has to be the POS+ terminal for at least 30Minutes

PLEASE advise which is the Correct way to Reset the ECU

Another thing form time to time I get the little Spanner symbol on the left of the odometer appearing every 15 ~ 20k so each time I just disconnected Neg terminal to reset

CHEERs

Thanks for your advice in advance

I Ordered this
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OEM-QUALITY-MITSUBISHI-Magna-TR-TS-TE-TF-TH-TJ-Pajero-Verada-Oxygen-Sensor-O2-/121077019432?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c30c0b328

I spoke to the Mechanic who said Maybe not necessary but because its done 180k its sure to be somewhat contaminated so it wouldn't hurt either.

So for 1 hrs labour and the cost of the Oxygen sensor @$69 I its worth a try @<$150

I spoke to Parts suppliers Prices ranged from $150~ >$200 just for the oxygen sensor

I used the same PE7 sensor from the guy in Vic, as I live here I picked it up from his factory unit, for my daughters TH. Consumption went from 16-17 lt to 12 after a few days, not a problem with it since replacing old one 18 moths ago.

I just also bought that O2 sensor and picked it up from his factory. Great bloke to deal with. Apparently he sells around 30 units of these per week.

Will see how I go over the next few months but so far so good. I've managed to eradicate a rough idle that used to occur when the engine is warm.

Well i bought one from him.

8000km later and it was dead. Car has no power or anything. Was only 6 months old. Sent it back and he refunded my money. Then i got a generic one.
