Well my car is well overdue for a major service and im going to give it a go myself. Im also going to be fitting an aftermarket transmission cooler at the same time.

What i just wanted to know is, what exactly is gapping the spark plugs? Thats just the distance between the eletrode and the other connector isn't it? Whats the distance for the 2.4 any ideas?

Cheers
Blake

Nah, ngk plugs are set from factory, it's wise to check before putting in though as they can close up if dropped or bumped. Gap should bet set at the factory 1.0 to 1.1mm if correct plugs are used.

Scubsteve,

When doing a major service, what do you reccomend doing?

Im simply going to change the oil, filter, plugs coolant. Perhaps the fuel filter as im sure that hasn't been done before.

Anything else i miss?

Don't forget after 100,000kms your timing belt is due $$$

Thats a thing i hate about the V6's. You can't change the rear plugs with out removing the plenum...

Blackie, that just about covers it. I would do the fuel filter due to the shit fuel around.
How's ya auto fluid and brake fluid?

Maybe pull of your rear discs and inspect the handbrake drum and shoes and adjust.

I had the auto service about 3 months back with new genuine mitsu oil and filter.

Oh well will give it a go over the next two days and report my findings.

I was told to change different spark plugs for winter and summer use for best efficiency.

I usually service mine.. I'll be doing another oil change soon.. did the front 3 spark plugs a while back..

Coming up on 150k, need to get the manual gearbox oil changed.. so I'll take it in for that.. a little to critical for me.
