Hello people, I hope to find any one that has experience in the ETACS system controller in the 1990 Tp elite model. The system provides the delay time after ignition is off, and key removed, to put up the power windows and allow the power Ariel to come down, however after the two minutes of required time the horn alarm function does not operate if a door is opened, further the security light does not operate either, this fault is not due to globe or wiring issues, I have recently become the second owner since manufacture the original owner, who did not have any interference with body electrical wiring, does some one have a different idea as to where I should look to find this fault. Thanks dudes.

This may be a silly question but if the windows are up and the doors locked as they should be, how are you opening the door?

The reason for asking this is to establish whether you really do have a problem or whether the system is just working differently from what you expect.

I don't have an Elite but I have the factory service manual. The ETACS system has self-diagnostics that are easy to use and can help pin-point the fault.

On my TP magna, I have looked into the fuel relay and the engine speed sensor. These two units are japanese Mitsubishi Items. I have drawn the circuit diagrams of the two relays. There is nothing mysreious about either of them.
At the time the magna was made, was before the extensive use of micro-computers like today. Today, anything with a microcomputer CANNOT be repaired if the problem is in the micro.
The ETACS is very likely to be assembled with standars parts which can be bought off the shelf, so if anyone has a question about the ETACS, then I could asist by drawing the circuit and repairing, if required. To do that I'll need an ETACS.

I would say the door buttons are probably near death
