Hi guys,

I've got a 1997 Magna. There was an old Pioneer in it, I took it out, bought a harness Mitsu-ISO to plug my Sony CDX-GT35U, but then nothing's happening (only the sound like charging a CD)
I looked for the wires diagram and I think the previous owner of the car mixed up all the wires so the harness doesn't work.
Here are the wire colors from the Mitsu.

1 2 _ 3 4
5 6 _ 7 8

1.Red with black stripes
2.Black
3.Grey with red stripes
4.Grey with blue stripes
5.White with red stripes
6.White with blue stripes
7.Yellow with red stripes
8.Yellow with blue stripes

1 _ 2
_ 3 4

1.Green with white stripes
2.Blue
3.Black
4.Red

They're not right, are they? What do I have to do now?

Thanks for your help

Just to confirm, you're trying to plug directly into the factory stereo plug with an adapter for your Sony head unit, right?

Yes, through a ISO harness. It should have been esay: Mitsu -ISO >< ISO-Sony
But the wires don't match between the factory plug and the ISO harness (I checked with a diagram)

My suggestion would be remove and re-fir the wires to the correct locations on the plugs. Your diagram should outline what pin/wire goes where in the plug, and that should solve your problem.
Failing that, if you ask super nice, I might send you the Mitsubishi workshop diagram for it.

That's what I thought but I don't know how to do that. I've got the diagram but thanks for that. I wanted to be sure about the problem before I touch the wires...

If you have a watchmakers screwdriver set, pick a nice small flat head screwdriver, insert it into the FRONT of the factory plug, while simultaneously pushing the wire in. This releases the plastic clip that retains the metal pin inside the plug.
Then, pull the wire out. It takes some practice, and don't use too much force.
If you're in Melbourne, happy to help you out.

Why dont you cut the plug and wire the headunit's plug directly to the wires?

Thanks NicoXY, I live in the suburbs (near Frankston) but I hope one of my friends can help me with this.

Lbus9168, I don't know how to cut wires and put them back in a plug so....same problem! But thanks
