Hi
Today i found an engine cover on a verada at the wreckers. I tested it on a th magna which was next to to it and it fitted fine ( apart from not being able to use the three front screws on the cover). When I got home and tried to put the cover on my th it didn't fit. The culprit is something I have always wondered about. What are those things? Turns out they are solenoid valve vacuum switches. K5T48271's to be precise. In all the photos I've seen no other engine seems to have these where mine are. They are fitted on a plate using two bolts (these are in the two holes where my engine cover is supposed to go). Where do these solenoids normally live and can I move them.

Thanks to any one who can help.

Undo the bolt that they are currently connected to, remove them, do the bolt back up, undo the lower bolt on the upper inlet manifold, fit them on this instead.

Thanks mate

I've moved them over. Not sure if I put them where you said but my cover fits now. I'm still puzzled over where these soliniods are on every other car or if mine has been changed by a mechanic somewhere along the line.
