Hi all
I need to rotate the tyres on my 380 Platinum as efficiently as possible (without paying for a tyre place to do it)
Is there a point on the side of the car I can use a trolley jack on to lift the side up sufficiently to have both wheels off the ground at the same time?
Thanks.
At the jack point, if you lift high enough you can lift one side (both wheels) up...but I always use jack stands...much safer.
But if you have a trolley jack, and also use your cars internal jack, you can achieve the same.

Or just borrow a jack from a friend and use 2, one on each corner :). That's how I used to do it.

If you only have the car jack then you can do it using the spare wheel.
One corner at a time, remove wheel, replace with spare, lower, go to next corner, remove wheel, replace with previously removed wheel and so on and so on.
Incredibly tedious and time consuming, but it can be done.
Much better to get a cheap trolley jack and/or a set of axle stands from somewhere like SCA, then follow Bill's advice.
Better still get two trolley jacks and shove one under each side jacking point, piece of cake. That's what I do.
Best not to use two car jacks, I did that once, one of them collapsed and the side of the car fell against a solid wall and was damaged. Lucky I was on the other side of the car at the time otherwise I could have been pinned against the wall.

Workshop manual p 00-27 >> shows jack points for floor jack as middle of suspension cross memebers or normal jack points just inside front and rear wheels
So jack from centre with trolley jack then put engine stand at normal point then reapaet at other end

Lazy man's car jack. No, I put the picture up to show what the normal head of a Mitsu jack looks like. The slot in the head fits over a ridge, and the weight of the car is actually taken by the bodywork behind the ridge, not the ridge itself.

If you use a trolley jack, locate it on the bodywork behind the ridge between the two notches, not the ridge itself, otherwise the ridge will collapse. Just a little trap for the unwary. If the ridge collapses the normal jack will no longer fit. (Had to fix this several times on second hand Mitsus.)
You will need two jacks, don't try lifting the whole side of the car by putting a single trolley jack somewhere in the middle, the floor there will just collapse upwards. (Yes, had to fix this one on a Magna too. Some clumsy 'tards out there. lol)
