Just finished installing a genuine sedan towbar, its the mitsi 1500kg one made by Allin in Adelaide. The bar p/n is MR927407 and the tongue is MR927408, it is stamped as for a Magna Sedan so I presume its not for a Verada.

The last bit to do is to fit the tongue, but it appears the only way to get it on is to cut away a section of the rear bumper...I can't see any way to get it on as the tongue is too deep. The pics show what I mean. Just wondering whether anyone else has installed a genuine tb on a 3rd gen magna sedan and confirm that the bar needs cutting? Prefer not to cut it away, but I can't see any way around it.

Might as well cut it. I put a Hayman Reece bar on my third gen without cutting that bit out, but it left the bar stressed and that section broke at one end all by itself. Nice clean slice with a hacksaw, takes 5 minutes.

No need for a hacksaw which creates jagged edges and chipped paint. Just get a sharp knife or stanley knife and slowly cut a straight cut. Those plastics are quite soft. I had mine done through ATB as well but being a Verada, had to cut a square hole as the Verada bumpers don't have the cut-out.

If you don't want to cut it, heat it with a hot air gun and bend it down a little.
