Projects

Durian.ai is an innovative platform that is focused on fostering collaboration and unity within the AI industry. It does this through two main types of projects: Policy and Tech. The Policy projects aim to create a favorable regulatory and ethical framework for AI development, while the Tech projects focus on advancing technological capabilities and solutions. Both types of projects are designed to promote more cohesion among AI firms, enabling them to work together towards common goals and drive the industry forward.

Federated Learning

Federated learning is an innovative approach that allows smaller AI companies to tap into the untapped potential of idle computing devices owned by willing individuals. By creating a network that connects these devices, federated learning enables the collective use of their computing power. This collaborative process not only democratizes access to computational resources but also allows for more efficient and scalable AI model training. In essence, federated learning transforms a multitude of individual devices into a powerful, distributed computing system, empowering smaller AI firms to compete more effectively in the AI landscape. Marketplace

A The Marketplace serves as a virtual hub where individuals or firms with surplus computing power can offer their resources to small AI firms, whether for-profit or non-profit. Participants can choose to provide their computing power either for a fee or free of charge. Within the Marketplace, they have the opportunity to explore various aspects of the projects, such as their objectives, impact, and requirements, before making a decision. This platform not only facilitates the efficient utilization of idle computing resources but also supports the growth and innovation of smaller AI entities by providing them with much-needed computational capabilities. Whitepapers

In the policy space, our aim is to provide whitepapers that articulate the policy positions of small AI firms on various AI-related regulatory questions. To achieve this, we plan to engage in interviews and conferences with a diverse range of industry stakeholders, including AI firms, venture capitalists, academics, and others. These interactions will enable us to gather insights and perspectives that will inform the content of our whitepapers, ultimately helping to shape and influence the regulatory landscape for AI.
