Km's dont matter if you look after any car but just makes the resale value less but you always never make money with cars so if you do up a car and spend alot of cash on it,might aswell keep it if it runs awesome!
My opinion anyway.

The Outlander does all the daily driving etc so the magna just sits in the driveway with a cover on waiting for the weekends that I'm free.
Still drives like the day I bought it 3.5 years ago.

All I can say is WOW! I really want to do a trip like this one day, but it will be when the kids are over 18 now. Don't think I could do 20,000k's of "are we there yet?" from the kids - from the wife will be bad enough lol . I'll work on convincing the family to go Melbourne -> Adelaide and back as a starting point. Was going to drive to MM09 but it's on when school is back on in Victoria so that plan has had to go on the back burner.

Guy at work did it a couple of years ago with 3 kids under 5 and a Pajero except they went Melbourne -> Adelaide -> Darwin, then down to Perth and back across to Melbourne.

That's gotta be the highest so far!

My '99 TH is just about to click over to 190,000. Still original engine and auto trans as well, touch wood

My TP SE manual had 245,000-ish on it when I traded it in on the TH.

My mum had a '91 TR Elite that had 280k+ when she sold it (in 1996 :)). Still ran beautifully and was in excellent mechanical condition (no smoke etc) but the gearbox had been rebuilt twice. The guy that bought it said he was still going to put a new engine in it.

drove my dad's TE 3.0 wagon again the other day, now over 420,000k's. probably still drives smoother than mine!

only "major" work that has been done is replacing the head gaskets.... even still the mechanic said it was the easiest gasket change he's done for a while, no head damage/repairs needed

Hi,

Just wondering if everyone could post how many kms their car has done.. Mines a 99 TH Advance thats done 122000kms. Its ex-fleet car. I just hope it will last another 122000kms.

240K isn't a very confident goal! Mine was a Gen2, but it still did over 360,000km and was still running very well when we sold it 5 months ago.

it was one of the first te's off the line, being an april 96 model.

Mine is a May 1996 model build number 4888, V6 Executive with factory fitted Cruise Control. Its a silver beige colour (or Kashmir) - And what makes it rarer that it also has the cup holders behind the gear shifter (well I put them in recently from a TF wagon, changed the centre console)

Purchased it 4 years ago, was a non ex fleet 1 owner car that has serviced regularly since new. It has done 255,000k's and still goes like new.

My parents recently purchased a May 2001 TJ Executive sedan that has just 97,000ks on it. And its a 3.0L. One of the last 3.0L's ever made. Of course been a 3.0L its white in colour (Mawson White).

10/03 KL Verada, bought September this year with 107,000km on the clock, now has about 113,000.

I guess it's going alright, has all the common problems such as the rear window seal squeaking, squeaky driver's seat, sounds like a tractor on a cold start then has a rattle at low RPM, chews aout 15L/100km with gentle driving (probably lambda sensor), 5 speed auto flares and lags during shifts even after reset and fluid flush...

But I've never had any luck with cars.

My 99 TH Sports has approx 146,000km on it. Had it for about 6 years and has done about 100,000km with me. Automatic, dark green in colour.

Have recently changed the shocks, leaking rocker cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals. Nothing much other than that apart from regular servicing. It has had the dreaded leaking heater smell but a little stop leak in the radiator seems to have stopped that, at least for now.

My dad has a 2002 TJ series 2, white with the leather interior. Very nice. Keeps it like new and it might be the car with the lowest mileage on here. 33,000km!

Just got to say the best car i've had.

Mine had done 335,000 before the engine trouble, which was caused by a dodgy timing belt (or incorrect installation by the garage which wasn't the usual one).

Slightly off topic:
It worked fine, I thought I had a problem with engine power a couple of months ago but it was just a blocked fuel filter! About 300,000 of that was highway driving though.

The engine and gearbox I am replacing it with has done around 114,000K, taking it to the garage after easter to get done. How long does an engine and transmission trasfer take anyways at a garage typically? its been taken out of another vehicle.

nope, turns out the timing belt was last done around the 200,000 mark, so it had over 200,000k's on it! No wonder it let go!

the TE now has a 3.5 in it so it's back alive! no doubt it would probably hit 500,000 by the end of the year with the amount of driving my dad does.

I'm swaping out my brother inlaws TF engine next week end, It's done 370K km, just got smokey at Easter and I reckon it's because it ran out of Coles brand oil, it had a leak out the front seal and he just tops it up when the light comes on!. I picked up a 2nd hand engine with 153k on it, to drop in. I'll stick a belt kit, water pump, plugs and rocker cover gaskets in the new motor, plus some penrite and new filters for him. Hopefully he can get an other 200k out of this one.

Recently picked up two new toys: a TE Altera (230k) and a TF Exec (303k) - the exec has "a blown motor" which at this stage I am guessing is a snapped timing belt (havent turned it over yet, wanna remove the cover and take a peek).

Has extensive service history right up to 210,000kms, it appears the belt was first replaced at 129,700kms and its stopped on 303,683kms so the belt lasted 173,983kms.
